Bonus Photo - Lake Lillian

This is a photo from yesterday, but I didn't get around to reviewing all my photos last night.  Gorgeous sunset and the water was so calm.

Day 183 - Flowers

Went to Premier Lake, Tamarack Lake, and Larchwood Lake today.  Flowers are more plentiful here than in Alberta.

Month 6 in Review - June

I've made it halfway though this project! Looking back, I think my biggest reward of the project overall is having captured things - mundane things - that might otherwise have been long forgotten.  Each of the photos is, in some way, a reminder of what I did on a given day.  And while it seemed that this month was rainy on most weekends, looking back at the sky shots reminds me of how many nice summer evenings we've already had.  I have adventures and mini trips planned for July, August, and September, so am hoping that those will give me a chance to slow down and again take a stab at star trails and other slower nature photography.

Some stats for June:
  • Favourite photo: Day 152 - Fiery Sky
  • Least favourite photo: Day 178 - Backcountry Dessert Test - the photo is as bad as the taste of this stuff
  • Most challenging photo to take: Day 166 - Bodum - white needs to be white
  • Most creative photo: Day 176 - Mount Indefatigable - perhaps not that creative, but I like finally having my first shot that shows that the earth is round
  • Most used Photoshop edits: sponge (saturate), unsharp mask
  • Number of photos taken this month: ~860
  • Number of days on which I wouldn't have taken a photo if I didn't have to for this: 23/30
  • How I feel about this project: Just keep going, even if I need to sneak in photos of things on my desk.
Which is your favourite photo from June?

Day 178 - Backcountry Dessert Test

I need to figure out how to keep the weight of food for three days down and stay away from these packaged foods that I really don't enjoy too much.

Day 171 - Onward!

Met Jamie Clarke today, so my helmet got another signature on it.  Thank you for the book!

Day 170 - Stuff on My Desk

Feeling sick and need to get to bed, so here's the usual I-need-a-photo scene: stuff on my desk.

Day 165 - Magic Chocolate Rum Balls

Recipe says 3/4".  Mine are 1-1/2".  No wonder it didn't make that many.

Day 162 - Ribbon Lake

Approximately 23km & 600m elevation gain.  Didn't think we'd make it up the chains and all the way to the lake today, so it was a pleasant surprise.

Day 161 - Swirly Red Sky

Same view as Day 152, but different sky.

Day 160 - The Real Thing

Pixelated prairie landscape.  Top to blend in with the sky, bottom to blend in with the grass.

Day 157 - The Start?

This may be the start of something after a powerful conversation with a former boss: You need to take time off.  Take a sabbatical, take a photography class, recharge.

Day 155 - Lifestyles of the Rich

I'm not a fan of filters, but all I had from today was a quick drive-by photo. Ran this through Filter Forge's Photo Effects, then added film grain in Photoshop.

Day 154 - Cacti

No time for a real photo, so more stuff that's on my desk.

Day 152 - Fiery Sky

I got up from my desk and saw this.  McMahon Stadium - at the same time that U2 is playing Commonwealth.  I was intrigued by the 'fire' reflection, so left it.  And yes, the sky was that red.
